Escape to the Worcestershire Countryside.
From historic cottages and traditional country homes to a stay within Severn End itself, the properties across the Estate are as individual as the landscape that surrounds them.
Set amongst the Worcestershire countryside, with the Malvern Hills and River Severn close by, our properties form an important part of the Estate and its community. Some are homes that have been occupied by generations of the same family; others offer visitors the opportunity to experience life at Severn End for themselves.
Whether you are looking for a long-term home, a grand country escape or a secluded off-grid retreat, Severn End offers a rare opportunity to become part of an historic Worcestershire estate.
Homes With History
Severn End Estate has a substantial portfolio of residential properties, ranging from traditional estate cottages and rural homes to larger period properties, each with its own history, character and charm.
Our approach to residential letting reflects the Estate’s wider philosophy of long-term stewardship. We take pride not simply in letting houses, but in creating lasting relationships with the people who make their homes here.
Many of our tenants remain with us for many years, and in some cases the connection between a family and their home has continued for three generations.
This continuity is an important part of life at Severn End. Our properties are maintained as homes for the present while preserving the character that makes them part of the Estate’s history.
Residential properties on the Estate do not become available regularly.
When a suitable property does become vacant, we therefore maintain a waiting list of prospective tenants interested in renting a home on the Estate.
If you would like to be considered for future houses to rent on Severn End Estate in Worcestershire, please contact the Estate Office with some information about yourself and the type of property you are looking for.

Experience Life in a Historic Country House
For generations, Severn End has been a family home. Today, guests have the opportunity to experience a little of that history for themselves.
The central section of Severn End is available as exclusive short-term holiday accommodation, offering up to eight guests the chance to stay within this remarkable historic Worcestershire manor house.
Part of the house dates from the 15th century, while its timber framing, leaded windows, panelled rooms and grand fireplaces retain the atmosphere and character of an historic English country house. These historic surroundings have been carefully combined with the comforts expected of a modern country escape.
The accommodation sleeps up to eight guests across three bedrooms, with generous reception spaces and two bathrooms.
At its heart is the Main Hall, with a large working fireplace and direct access to the garden. The panelled Parlour provides another substantial entertaining and dining space, complete with its own fireplace and views across the gardens, parkland and courtyard. A fully equipped modern kitchen makes the house equally suited to relaxed weekends and longer family stays.
Upstairs, individually appointed bedrooms enjoy views towards the Malvern Hills, River Severn, parkland and historic avenue.
Outside, guests have their own large private walled garden opening towards the parkland, with space for outdoor dining and a barbecue.
It is a chance to enjoy the grandeur of staying in a stately country home without losing the warmth and informality of staying somewhere that remains very much a family estate.

Severn End provides a peaceful rural base from which to explore Worcestershire and the surrounding counties.
The Malvern Hills are a short drive away, while Upton-upon-Severn can be reached in around five minutes by car. Worcester is approximately 20 minutes away and Cheltenham around 25 minutes, placing the Cotswolds, Herefordshire and the Welsh borders within easy reach.
Or simply stay at Severn End, light the fire and enjoy the countryside.
Stays can be booked through major holiday booking platforms or directly through the Estate Office.
Switch Off. Properly.
Hidden within the wider Severn End Estate is a very different way to experience the Worcestershire countryside.
Our luxury off-grid cabin has been created for guests who want to escape the noise of everyday life and spend a few days surrounded by open countryside.
Positioned in a secluded part of the private Estate, the cabin looks towards the Malvern Hills and has been deliberately designed around simplicity, comfort and the landscape.
There is no Wi-Fi by design.
Instead, there are countryside views, a wood-burning stove, evenings around the fire pit and an outdoor bath overlooking the hills.

The cabin is completely off-grid, with solar power providing energy for lighting, charging points and refrigeration, while hot water is supplied independently. A log burner provides warmth during the colder months.
Inside is a king-size bed with a handmade mattress and quality linen, a compact but well-equipped kitchen, and a bathroom with a large shower.
Step through the stable door onto the covered deck and you’ll find one of the cabin’s highlights: an outdoor hot bath with uninterrupted views towards the Malvern Hills.
Cooking can be as simple as you want it to be. There is a two-ring gas hob inside, while outside a fire pit and grill allow you to cook over an open flame beneath the Worcestershire sky.
Dogs are welcome too, with one dog permitted per stay.
Although the cabin feels wonderfully remote, village life isn’t far away.
The Three Kings Inn is around a ten-minute walk away, while Upton-upon-Severn and Malvern are both within easy reach for restaurants, pubs, shops and days exploring the Malvern Hills and surrounding countryside.
Cars are left approximately 300 metres from the cabin, with the final part of your arrival completed on foot — a small transition from everyday life into somewhere altogether quieter.
Your Piece of the Worcestershire Countryside
Severn End sits between the River Severn and the Malvern Hills, surrounded by countryside that generations of the Lechmere family have called home.
Whether that means making your home on the Estate for years to come, gathering family and friends for a weekend at Severn End, or disappearing into the countryside for a quiet few nights off-grid, we would be delighted to welcome you.
